Tesco closes fresh meat and fish counter in Liverpool store

A Tesco store in Liverpool has lost its fresh meat and fish counter.

First reported on social media by customers of the Deysbrook Superstore, the retailer confirmed that the combined fresh meat and fish counter had been removed from the store.

According to Tesco’s press team, the retailer made the decision because the counter at Deysbrook had been unprofitable for some time. The closure has affected one member of staff and the retailer said it was “doing all we can to support them through the redundancy process”.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We’ve taken the difficult decision to close the combined meat and fish counter in our Deysbrook store. Customers will still be able to find a great range of high-quality packaged fresh meat and fish to choose from in our Deysbrook store.”
