"The combination of quality, value and advanced technology has given Samsung a significant share of the commercial microwave oven market," said David Watts, head of Samsung Professional Appliances. "However, the brand plans to grow further. We intend to introduce new commercial microwave models and move into new product sectors in the next 12 months. Consequently, it made good business sense to bring distribution in-house.
"The move also allows us to get closer to our customers, as we will be able to deliver a more dedicated, focused approach to the foodservice sector."
