Welsh Beef Christmas campaign launched
Welsh beef bosses are taking to the television in a bid to go head to head with the turkey sector this Christmas.
Hyby Cyg Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales will be funding a 30 second television advert for Welsh Beef which will run from now until 18 December and are hoping it will appeal to consumers looking for something different for their Christmas dinner.
The advert, which features a voiceover from Wales very own Hollywood star Matthew
Rhys, shows the different methods of cooking Welsh Beef.
The TV adverts will be backed up by a poster campaign at key locations across
Laura Dodds, market development manager with Wales’ red meat promotion
agency Hybu Cig Cymru, said: “Many people are looking for something different from
the ‘traditional’ Christmas fare, and Welsh Beef fits the bill perfectly.
“Our television advertisement highlights the versatility of Welsh Beef - there are a
variety of ways to cook it meaning that it can be used no matter what the occasion.
I believe that many people will be inspired to try something different this year and
make Welsh beef their first choice."
This year’s advertising campaign builds on the success of previous years.
A survey conducted by HCC following last year’s TV campaign revealed that three
out of four shoppers said they were more likely to buy Welsh Beef after seeing the
advert and more than 80 per cent said they would rather buy Welsh Beef than meat
from other countries. Almost nine out of 10 consumers said that Welsh Beef was a
brand they could trust.
