Stop Press: Kay to hit the stage
Barney Kay, director of the National Pig Association, has announced plans to leave a life in the sty and pursue his dream of bright lights in theatre.
Kay was originally thought to be leaving the NPA for a new job with the NFU, but the calling of showbusiness proved too strong.
However, he is not completely abandoning his pig promoting past, and has announced plans to stage an update on the Broadway classic Cats! - this time with a more porcine vibe.
The new show, provisionally titled, Pigs!, is due to launch in the Autumn, and Kay is now seeking backers.
“We’re ok on the outfit front,” he said. “But we really need somebody to help us with the feed costs.”
