Tension builds as processing event draws near

19 March, 2012

Monday 26 March will see the announcement of our winners in the Meat & Poultry Processing Awards, which takes place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

The hotly contested awards, across six different categories, which include, Supply Chain Initiative, Young Processor, Environmental Initiative, Plant Manager, Export Initiative, Small Processor and Processor of the Year, will see some of the UK’s leading players competing for a title.

Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, which organises the awards, said: “This is shaping up to be a great night and a great event. This is the third year we’ve run the competition, and it gets better each time. I look forward to congratulating all our finalists and winners on the evening.”

The 2012 awards are again being supported by all the major industry bodies — The Association of Independent Meat Suppliers, the British Poultry Council, the British Meat Processors Association, the International Meat Trade Association, the Provision Trade Federation and the Scottish Association of Meat Wholesalers.

This year’s awards are also being sponsored by a number of organisations, including Eblex, the Meat Training Council, the CDO Group, Bizerba and Foodex, the organiser of the UK’s leading meat-processing event. Entertainment on the awards night is being sponsored by Systems Integration.
