Butcher launches new Jubilee range
A Northumberland butcher has developed a new range of ‘right royal’ products to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
R Turnbull and Sons Butchers, in Alnwick, is launching three new products to mark the occasion, which will be available from 24 May.
The range includes a Jurassic steak, which was invented by Scottish butcher and 2012 Butcher’s Shop of the Year winner John Davidson.
“This new steak has gone down a treat with John’s customers in Scotland, so we’ve brought it south of the border for our own customers to try. It’s a steak that’s really tender and full of flavour, but also offers better value,” explained Mark Turnbull.
Other new products include a Jubilee burger and a Jubilee sausage, both containing secret added ingredients.
“All we can divulge at this stage is that the burgers will contain Northumbrian beef and the sausages pork from pigs brought locally at Acklington Livestock Mart,” said Mark.
“One thing’s for sure, we feel these signature products are fit for both Queen and country. Seriously though, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is one of the highlights of the entire year and we wanted to do something different and that little bit special.”
