Eblex gets mobile

Eblex has launched a new branded mobile cookery and butchery demonstration unit, which it will use at shows and events.

The custom-built unit has interchangeable internal cladding and is completely self-contained, making it ideal for use as portable kitchen and an area for sampling and demonstrations.

According to Eblex, one end of the unit is devoted to butchery and was designed by its business development manager Dick van Leeuwen. The other end of the unit was designed by Hugh Judd, foodservice project manager for Eblex. Judd’s end is equipped for a variety of cooking types and has a range of equipment, including a water bath for sous vide cooking. It also has a barbecue to cook and smoke meats.

Hugh said: “We are very excited to introduce our new demonstration unit; it’s kitted out with everything we need to showcase Quality Standard Mark beef and lamb to its best and can be used at all kinds of events.”

The unit is well-equipped for demonstrations with video screens and a PA system on board. It was put to the test when it made its debut at the first Lamb Tour event, where it was used by Judd and master butcher Viv Harvey, who said: “It has everything you could need on board and the mirrors and video screens are great for the audience during butchery demonstrations.”
