Need for collaboration on supply chain
The whole industry needs to work together to avoid another horsemeat issue, visitors to the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) were told on Monday.
Ufi Ibrahim, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, told the audience in a question and answer session, that the government, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) needed to ensure “improved testing systems” were effective moving forward.
She said they needed to “work together to find a system that will be simple and really effective in terms of the way it is supplied throughout the whole supply chain”.
