Bpex event to focus on pig welfare
Bpex is launching a technical innovation conference, aimed at business owners, farm managers and vets, to look at the future of pig buildings and how to improve breeding performance.
The company has invited experts to design the “ultimate pig building”, drawing inspiration from new innovations around the world, in an aim to provide useful insight into future pig housing.
Bpex wants to make “the most effective use of resources” to improve pig health and performance. Additionally, pig producers and technical experts will present research, new technologies and management techniques on the day.
Bpex head of knowledge transfer Andrew Knowles commented: “In the Breed+3 session of the conference, we will be drawing together the latest innovations in breeding herd management to help producers wean more piglets per sow. We know it is both possible and necessary to increase breeding herd productivity.”
The conference will be held at Stoneleigh Park on 18 June.
