Farming Minister to address Eblex event

Food and Farming Minister David Heath will address attendees, via pre-recorded video message, at an upcoming export conference event that will focus on Russia.

The event is Eblex’s ninth annual Export Conference and will look at the opportunities available for beef and lamb on the turbulent Russian market.

The event will also feature a focus presentation on why Russia is “a critical market”. To coincide with the presentation, the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA) will hold a workshop on Russian veterinary and residue controls.

Eblex export manager for France Rémi Fourrier will outline key developments in France, while export marketing executive Jonathan Eckley will host a seminar on pork export trade.

Of the event Eblex export manager Jean-Pierre Garnier said: “Our Export Conference is a fixture in the industry calendar and always proves popular and informative. It is particularly helpful for meat exporters, who will gain practical knowledge on how to increase their overseas sales. In addition, this year’s scope has also been broadened to give an overview of UK pork exports, which I’m sure delegates will find informative and useful.”

The free event will be held at the Arthur Rank Centre, Stoneleigh Park, on Wednesday 26 June.
