Australian jerky firm expands into Europe

Australian-based jerky company Mariani Foods, which recently ventured into the UK market, has announced its expansion into two more European countries.

Mariani launched its brand of jerky in the UK last April and has its products on sale in Costco, Tesco and Selfridges, but has confirmed it will be selling to four more countrywide companies in Germany and Iceland.

“Customers are interested to try something new and our soft beef jerky offers them that. Its easy-to-chew texture and vibrant flavours make it different to most of the jerky currently available in Europe,” Mariani Foods managing director Don Nisbet said. “These new distribution contracts in Europe and our UK clients’ increased orders are testament to the fact that consumer demand is growing for something different in the meat snacks market.”
