Interfood completes Samworth Brothers Challenge

A team of four from Interfood has raised £4,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK by completing the Samworth Brothers Challenge with 10 hours of exercise.

Steve Naylor, Rob Unwin, Tom Foran and James Well were the members of the ‘’ team attending the challenge, which consisted of 15km on foot, 10km in a canoe and 44km on bikes through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.

Director of Interfood’s slicing division Rob Unwin said: “The scenery was spectacular – 10 years ago and two stone lighter I may have been able to take more of it in, but all focus was on navigating what was a very tough course.”

Family company Samworth Brothers, which consists of businesses producing chilled foods, has arranged three charity challenges prior to this one. This year’s event saw the total figures raised for charity by the company pass the £1m mark.

Unwin added: “On behalf of the team, I’d like to thank all our suppliers, our customers and our friends for supporting and helping us to raise over £4,000 for a truly inspiring charity. Also, many congratulations to Samworth Brothers for putting on a superb event and for hitting the £1m milestone.”

Corporate account manager at Make-A-Wish Angela Banfield said: “To have undertaken such a tough challenge is, in itself, a huge achievement! To have raised over £4,000 while doing so is truly fantastic. The ‘after’ photo would suggest it was a ‘walk in the park’ but I have no doubt this was not the case.”
