Seasonings range targets top end of market

Top-end butchers are being targeted by a flavourings and seasonings company, with a new range of seasonings and marinades.

The products, called ‘Butchers Pride’, have been crafted, developed and widely tested by Unbar Rothon, a generations-old family business specialising in food ingredients.

All of the seasonings are presented in see-through jars, with flavours including Chinese Emperor, TT BBQ, Indian Summer, Piri Piri Fusion, Muay Thai and The Mint. There are also specifically developed seasonings for beef, pork and lamb burgers.

Not forgetting sausages, the range also includes seasoning mixes for Lincolnshire Poacher, Cumberland Gamekeeper, Pepper Pinch and Signature Sausage.

Unbar Rothon general manager Richard Rothon said: “Both the marinades and the seasonings give butchers a chance to add theatre to their customers in-store experience because the products can be demonstrated while customers watch, and their quality and exclusivity can be explained at the same time.”
