Essex turkey firm takes top awards
North Essex-based Grove Smith Turkeys has won several titles at the recent British Turkey Awards.
The company won the blue ribbon Best Premium Christmas category for its English Rose Free Range Bronze Hen, which is a slower-growing bird fed on a farm-based ration. Additionally, the company won top commercial section for its Hen Crown.
William Grove Smith said: “This is a wonderful result for everyone involved with the business and I would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make our turkeys the best.”
Having produced turkeys for 40 years, the company provides both Christmas and all-year sectors with turkeys.
The farm is known to produce high-quality cereals that are fed to the turkeys, and it also processes its turkeys on-site once they have reached full maturity.
The British Turkey Awards were held at the Savoy Hotel in London last month.
