Great Yorkshire competition sees 25th anniversary
This weekend will see the Great Yorkshire Pork Pie, Sausage, Black Pudding & Beef Burger Competition, into which 30 butchers across the county have entered more than 200 products.
It is the 25th anniversary of the UK’s biggest and best-known regional meat trades competition, with entries from retail butchers and farm shops.
There will be three pork pie classes for traditional, stand and speciality cold eating pies, three sausage classes with thin, thick and speciality, and supreme champions will take the overall titles.
There will also be a New Kid on the Block category for the best newcomer, and standalone black pudding and beef burger competition classes.
Last year, Bolster Moor Farm Shop took the pork pie and sausage supreme championship double, in addition to several class wins.
The competition will take place at Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford on 17 November.
