Welsh red meat website wins national award
A Welsh red meat website run by Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) has won the Best Educational, Media and Advertising Site award at a ceremony organised by Sitecore.
HCC was given the award at a ceremony in London for its bilingual website, which includes hundreds of recipes, in addition to health and hygiene tips, a database of butchers and a list of members of the Welsh Lamb Club.
HCC’s marketing manager Laura Dodds said: “Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef have an unrivalled reputation for quality, and they need a high-quality website to support them. I’m delighted that the high standard achieved by our website has been recognised.”
Previously won by Oxfam, Dyson, Easyjet and the Football Association, the award recognises companies that exemplify a commitment to engaging, informing and motivating customers.
HCC’s brand marketing officer Pip Gill added: “We are extremely proud that our website has won this prestigious award. We feel honoured to be mentioned in the same breath as such famous previous winners and worldwide brands.
“The award for the best education, media and advertising site is a tough category with stiff competition, and to win shows that the hard work put in by everyone involved in the website’s creation was well worthwhile.”
The website was created by Sequence of Cardiff and was chosen by submissions from Sitecore customers around the world.
