A leading supplier of duck and duck value added products to the Chinese and UK Foodservice markets is launching five new products in order to meet demand.

The range includes confit duck leg multi-pack, honey roasted half crown ducks and duckling al'Orange containing two roasted duck legs served in a fruity orange sauce.

The range also includes crispy Peking duck and oriental duck meal selection.

Rod Burrows, marketing manager at Cherry Valley, said: "Eating out is becoming ever more important in our busy lifestyles and by 2010, an estimated 50% of all spend on food will be out of home.

"Duck tends to be eaten more out of home rather than in as although it is a firm consumer favourite, sometimes consumers feel they do not have the cooking skills required to prepare in-home."

A spokesman for Cherry Valley said the company's latest product launches sought to combine the popularity of duck out of home with easy to prepare product formats.

The range is particularly targeted at the cash and carry sector with the new packs offering multi-pack formats for classic foodservice duck recipe dishes.

The spokesman added that the products could be used by chefs who needed premium quality menu ideas but would like to benefit from purchasing pre-prepared products and the new retail packs, would also allow duck to be consumed at home for dinner parties or with the family.
