It's French for the Welsh

HCC - Meat Promotion Wales has announced it will be screening its well-received Welsh Lamb television advert in Paris in French for the new season

Hybu Cig Cymru-Meat Promotion Wales has announced it will be screening its well-received Welsh Lamb television advert in Paris in French for the new season because successive sales campaigns have successfully encouraged more Parisians to buy quality Welsh Lamb.

Welsh Lamb now has a solid profile in France at restaurant, retail and wholesale level with top Parisian chefs singing its praises and significant retailers like Monoprix and Auchan strongly supporting the brand, HCC Chairman, Rees Roberts, told guests at a Paris meeting on Tuesday this week.

Roberts said: "This year our well-received Welsh Lamb television advertisement, which has been broadcast in the UK in both the English and Welsh languages, will have a third language version - French,"

"Welsh Lamb delivers a top quality performance, season after season. I am

pleased to say that this season Welsh rugby has caught up with Welsh

Lamb - a side of excellence, assurance and character, words that are also

synonymous with our Protected Geographical Indication (PGI)status for Welsh

Lamb."

Roberts addressed loyal French stockists of Welsh Lamb including exporters, importers, specialized wholesalers and retailers at the highly-rated Le Dôme du Marais restaurant in Paris where Welsh Lamb features as a signature dish.

He continued: "My main message to you today is that quality, PGI Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef is back in business in 2008. The Welsh Assembly Government and HCC are focusing on the future; a series of worldwide events are taking place to showcase the best of Welsh produce- and that, of course, includes Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef.

"HCC has already kicked off a busy international export drive. As I speak, we have a high profile at two important trade shows- one in Belgium and the other in Spain- and we will follow up with a strong presence at Food and Hotel Asia, Singapore in April and Cibus, Parma, Italy in May. Then it's back here to Paris in the autumn for the all important SIAL showcase."
