Bold new look for Strathmores

A Scotch pie brand has been relaunched by frozen food producer Strathmore.

A Scotch pie brand has been relaunched by frozen food producer Strathmore as part of a review carried out by the company at the start of 2006. The brand, which has been in existence for over 25 years, produces over 300,000 traditionally made frozen Scotch pies each week.

The relaunch, part of a modernisation of the Strathmore Foods logo and wider image, incorporates a new bolder, clean, "eye-catching" look. The company conducted research to understand customer attitudes towards packaging and range as part of the new programme.

A spokesman for Stathmore Foods said: "The new cleaner look packaging is designed to stand out in the freezer, clearly conveying 'convenience range' to the ever busy consumer whilst still offering outstanding value."

Maintaining the red packaging, the redesign includes a new updated logo; similar design in shape and colour to its sister brand McIntosh (chilled); new product photography, clearly showing the product; new nutritional information highlighting the absence of hydrogenated fats and new consumer friendly, quick cue cooking instructions.

Strathmore Foods plan to further build on Countryside's success and introduce additional new lines later this year. The additions are likely to include beef and vegetable pasties and cheese and onion pasties.

The Countryside range is currently listed in Tesco, Morrisons, Somerfield, Co-op and a number of independents.
