Macbeth website scores in online awards

04 September, 2009

A Scottish butcher has won three awards for its new website at the newly launched Online Retail Awards.

Macbeth's Butchers, of Forres, Scotland, was winner of the Food, Soft Drinks and Alcoholic Drinks category and received a highly commended in the Specialist Online Retailer category, as well as being a finalist in the Independent Online Retailer category. The feat is doubly impressive, given that the butcher was competing against big names such as Waitrose, Majestic and Abel & Cole. "These are amazing awards for us," said Jock Gibson of Macbeth's. "We have worked extremely hard in conjunction with our web designers and this work now seems to be paying off."

Macbeth's website was designed by Metazoa and 27BITS and was partly funded by Highlands & Islands Enterprise. The new site has helped Macbeth's to reach a wider market and online sales have increased by 40% since it was launched.
