Bagley criticises beef crisis summit in blog
Norman Bagley, policy director of the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers (AIMS), said very little came out of the recent beef crisis summit other than “hot air”, in meatinfo’s latest blog post.
Bagley attended the summit, which sought to address the farmgate beef pricing crisis and find solutions to it. The farming minister George Eustice was present, as well as the National Farmers’ Union, the British Meat Processors Association and numerous other bodies.
However, Bagley was less than optimistic about the summit’s impact: “What has actually happened to the beef trade after all that talking? Nothing. Zero. Zilch!”
