New gluten-free mix for sausages

A leading ingredients supplier is hoping to reinvigorate the gluten-free sausage sector with the launch of a new mix.

Lucas’ new Gluten-Free Cracked Black Pepper mix aims to add real flavour back into the gluten-free arena, the company claimed. “The sausages have a great visual appearance too, either raw or cooked, with just the right amount of real cracked black pepper pieces,” a spokesman said.

As it is an easy-to-use premium-quality mix, sausage-makers need only add meat and water to produce good results, Lucas added, saying the mix works equally well with pork, chicken, beef or even venison. “It has a great texture and will appeal to any customer seeking a gluten-free option that’s a little bit different.”
