ABP spread festive cheer
An ABP plant has helped spread a little festive cheer over the Christmas period by providing a beef Christmas lunch for residents of a homeless shelter.
ABP Doncaster donated the meat to M25 Housing And Support Group, a local homeless shelter, and a team from the plant donned Christmas hats and jumpers and helped to cook and serve Christmas lunch to 30 local people who are supported by M25.
Jane Kilkenny, PA at ABP Doncaster and organiser of the event, said: “Christmas is the time for giving, so we were really keen to get involved with this great cause and hopefully bring a little bit of festive joy to those who don’t have anything this Christmas. The day was a huge success overall, everyone turned up in their Christmas hats and jumpers and everyone helped to clean up too – there was a real feel of camaraderie to the day!
“Christmas is a busy time here at ABP Doncaster, we pack enough beef to stretch from Doncaster to the North Pole and then some! But despite being busy, we were keen to ensure we also invested in our community to help spread Christmas cheer to those less fortunate.”
