London to get a taste of The Highlands
The Wild Game Co is set to bring its authentic Scottish street food to London’s West End.
Mac & Wild restaurant is due to launch this autumn in London’s Great Titchfield Street. This will be the first time The Wild Game Co has a permanent home.
“We’re delighted to be bringing the North of Scotland to Central London with the launch of the Mac & Wild restaurant,” said Andy Waugh, founder of the company. “Our produce is not just wild or from ‘somewhere’ up north, we can tell you exactly who shot it and where from The Highlands, and we look forward to sharing it with you soon.”
Dishes available at the new restaurant include venison tartar, venison steak and venison burgers with duck fat chips.
To ensure that diners are to get the full Scottish experience, Mac & Wild will be decked out with the building’s original hardwood floors, and will feature butchers’ hooks hanging from the ceiling and stag heads mounted on the walls. The wood for the bar and tables comes from a felled tree originating all the way back in Waugh’s parent estate.
There will also be a ‘wall of meat’ displaying a range of different meats curing and hanging.
