Shoppers at a Yorkshire Tesco to get a taste of local produce
Four small food producers who supply Tesco’s Northallerton store will be on hand on 4 September to offer customers samples and tasters of their products.
Producers of sausage rolls and pork pies, Stobart’s, will be among the businesses present, aiming to educate customers about their products. They will be joined by Leeds Brewery, Jackson Bakery and Yorkshire Provender.
“We know that supporting local suppliers is important to our customers and we’re absolutely delighted to be working with so many producers in Yorkshire,” commented Faye Stevenson, the store’s manager.
“These local suppliers make amazing products that we’re proud to stock and I’d welcome our customers to come along and sample their wares.”
Customers are encouraged to share their photos and thoughts once they try local produce on social media, using the handles @locallysourced2 and @Tesco_North.
Sharon Taylor, from the Locally Sourced Food Company, added: “We’re proud that, together, we’re putting products made locally in Yorkshire on the map and its great to have the support of a retailer like Tesco along the way.”
