Braehead appoints new managing director
One of Scotland’s leading wholesalers and game processors, Braehead Foods, has promoted Gavin Tennent from general manager to managing director.
Current managing director Craig Stevenson will take on the role of chief executive to focus his efforts on business expansion throughout the UK. In addition to this restructure, Arlene Bonomi will join Braehead Foods as sales director after serving 27 years with a major foodservice wholesaler.
“I’m delighted to announce our new appointments today and to welcome Arlene to Braehead Foods,” said Stevenson.
“Arlene brings with her a wealth of experience to this new and exciting role. Gavin has been with us for six years and is committed to the ethos and vision of the company. His promotion to managing director will allow me to concentrate on strategic issues and broaden our business base across the UK and beyond.”
The wholesaler, a main provider of fine foods and game to hotels and restaurants, has experienced strong growth throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK. This year they are expected to see a turnover of over £14 million.
The company’s restructure coincides with the company embarking on an additional expansion of its 35,000sq ft customer built factory and distribution centre based in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.
