Danepak gets Bake Off treatment

Capitalising on the success of the Great British Bake Off, Danepak is celebrating its Rapid Rashers through a competition-style campaign. 

The event is part of The Serious Bacon Club campaign. Contestants were asked to create a ‘Signature Sandwich’ and a ‘Showstopper’ in two minutes using the Rapid Rashers, which can be cooked in 90 seconds.

For the ‘Signature Sandwich’ part of the challenge, contestants had 90 seconds to produce a classic bacon sandwich. In the ‘Showstopper’ part of the competition the participants were given 10 minutes to create the most elaborate bacon sandwich possible.

21-year-old Bristol University student, Sophie Armitage, beat off three other finalised to be crowned winner of the ‘Bacon Off’.

The Serious Bacon Club comes ahead of Danepak’s planned ATL (above the line) brand launch in early 2016, which targets bacon enthusiasts.

The first part of the campaign was a film, called ‘Welcome to the Serious Bacon Club’, which featured a series of bacon lovers demonstrating their love for the product, and has so far received 285,000 views on Facebook.
