Moy Park adds to trophy cabinet
Moy Park, the self-proclaimed largest poultry processor in Northern Ireland, was crowned the overall company at the UK Food Manufacture Excellence Awards on Tuesday (3 November).
“To win this top UK award against a quality field of finalists is an outstanding achievement,” explained Gary Leslie, director of agri fresh operations at Moy Park.
The food manufacturer was praised for its strong category leadership and development, alongside its emphasis on training, sustainability and assessing environmental impact.
Its safety initiative, ‘Meerkat Way’, was also applauded for being “an inspired way of promoting best health and safety practices in busy working environments”.
“This award recognises the great teamwork at the heart of Moy Park and I warmly congratulate and thank all of our team members for their continued commitment to achieving and maintaining such high standards,” Leslie added.
Moy Park also took home the Meat and Poultry Manufacturing Company of the Year award.
These awards will be added to the processor’s already impressive collection. It has recently been presented with an IoD [Institute of Directors] UK director of the year award for Mike Mullan, the group’s executive HR director Europe, as well as being recognised for its commitments to health and safety, and development.
