Scotland’s the Juicy Meat Company is launching its roast meat range to the trade at the 2016 Scotland Speciality Food Show next month. Up until now, the company has only catered hog roasts for events.

The completion of a refurbishment of a commercial kitchen will give the business the opportunity to supply its range of pork, lamb and beef to across Scotland.

“The feedback from customers on the quality and taste of our roasted meats was so positive that we have taken the step to allow other retailers to sell our produce,” said Moira Dalgliesh, from the Juicy Meat Company.

“Having had that connection with the public, we understand that provenance is growing in importance and we are confident that being able to offer this to customers will give other retail establishments a commercial edge.”

Dalgliesh rears rare breed Tamworth and Berskhire Cross pigs at Krincraig Farm, near Kelso. The roasted pork finished using a secret blend of herbs and spices.

Alongside the pigs, Kincraig Farm also breeds traditional hill lambs, and can supply Aberdeen Angus beef and organic chicken sourced from local farms.

Following its launch to the trade at the Speciality Food Show in January, the business will be in a position to start supplying in spring 2016. It will be a part of a Border Food & Drink Showcase exhibit.

“The Scottish Borders in an impressive part of Scotland, with its outstanding natural landscapes and fantastic local produce offering,” Dalgliesh continued. “We are proud to be a part of it and help to showcase the region and what it has to offer.”
