Dan Biggar revealed as new Welsh beef ambassador

Welsh international rugby star Dan Biggar has been named the new ambassador for the Celtic Pride Premium Beef Partnership.

The Wales and Ospreys outside-half took over the position from his ex-international colleague, Martyn Williams.

In his new role, Biggar will promote the best Welsh Beef and Welsh Pork as part of the Celtic Pride Premium Beef scheme. The programme was launched in 2003 by Castell Howell Foods Ltd and its partners after recognising a demand for a premium beef brand that offers consistency of supply and quality.

I am proud to be associated with a quality Welsh Beef and Pork brand that promotes all that is good about Welsh farming and the wider Welsh food sector, said Biggar.

I look forward to working with the team at Celtic Pride to promote the brand and its value-added products.

In partnership with the Welsh Livestock Company, Wynnstay Group and Aberystwyth University, the Celtic Pride Premium Beef scheme has grown to become one of Wales leading beef brands.

The scheme has since been expanded to include Welsh Pork sourced from Kay Davies at Ty Gwyn Farm in Brecon.

We are delighted Dan has agreed to be our new ambassador, explained Celtic Pride director Edward Morgan.

Were confident that his skill on the rugby field as one of Europes finest outside-halves parallels our aims of working with skilled farmers and processors to be one of the finest meat brands available in our field.

Celtic Pride Beef and Pork are available at numerous restaurants, gastro pubs and hotels throughout Wales.
