Aubrey Allen lands Selfridges deal
A Midlands-based butcher is celebrating after landing the contract to manage the meat department of Selfridges in London.
Aubrey Allen, which is also marking its 75th year in business, are well known in the Midlands and the company said it was looking forward to making its mark on the flagship London store.
Martin Crombie, master butcher from the company's Leamington Shop, will be managing the meat department in Selfridges. He said: "Aubrey Allen have very strong philosophies on where they source their meat, how they cut the product and presentation on the counter as well as the much loved customer service.
"I have worked with Peter and Russell Allen for over 15 years in Leamington and I am delighted that I have been asked to help with the training and development of the Selfridges branch. We want to bring that friendly independent butcher experience into a large department store"
Russell Allen added: "It is a great opportunity for us to develop our younger staff and attract more apprentices to the business in Leamington. It is also something exciting to offer on our training programme - a butchery placement in a London shop"
